Dr. Beatrice Muganda Inyangala is the Principal Secretary, the State Department for Higher Education and Research, Ministry of Education, Kenya.She is a passionate educator and leader who is committed to transforming higher education and its impact on the continent and globally. Prior to her appointment, she worked for the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR); a pan-African not-for-profit organization for 11 years, and exited as the Deputy Executive Director. Her accomplishments through the Pedagogical Leadership in Africa (PedaL) project are internationally acclaimed.She has extensive knowledge of actors, issues, challenges and opportunities in African higher education and has trained over 3,000 teaching staff in 91 universities in 11 African countries in innovative pedagogies. She has contributed immensely to the formulation of education policy and participated in education policy debates within the region and globally: Association of African Universities; EU-Africa policy dialogues; London School of Economics Africa Summit, among others. She holds a B.Ed and M. Phil in Planning and Economics of Education, Moi University, Kenya; PhD from the University of Athens, and has received further training at the International Institute of Educational Planning in Paris, France.

Tanui was the Chief Executive Officer of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) for over 7 years, Deputy Country CEO and Vice President of Huawei Technologies responsible for Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia and Djibouti and the Director of Technical Service Department in the same organization that he served for over of 15 years. With over 17 years in the ICT industry and international business management, Eng. Tanui has worked in several countries in Africa and also in China acquiring knowledge and experience in Business and project management, he has keen interest and expertise in Engineering Turnkey Projects, Innovations, setup and management of industry collaborations and partnerships. He is passionate about how technology can be utilized to solve challenges facing economies. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MIEK), a registered engineer and a member of the Academy of International Business. Eng. Joshua Setipa graduated from the Universities of Bradford (MBA), Australian National University and the National University of Lesotho.His core competencies are economic development issues, regional and global trade and economic issues, and investment mobilization.

He has over 20 years of experience gained at the national, regional and international levels working on economic and development issues.

He has substantive field experience working on regional economic development issues in Eastern, Southern and Western Africa, with focus on economic sector reform and regional economic integration issues and extensive experience working on multilateral trade issues and their impact on regional integration and economic development.

Florence Kimata is an Enterprise Development and SME Financing Policy Advisor. She has over 20 years experience in Policy Advisory, Commercial and Investment Banking within the East African Region. She served as a Business Reforms Specialist at the Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development where she successfully provided technical assistance in transforming public service delivery particularly in the approval of construction permits and registering businesses.

The interventions focused on business process re-engineering and digitization of approval processes aimed at enabling the business environment for the private sector. She cascaded the reform agenda to the Counties and led the development of the Sub-National Business Reform Agenda.

Prior to her role in DBRT, she was the SME Advisor to the Cabinet Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives where she provided technical assistance in the design and implementation of MSME development policy and financing solutions.

Her advisory role in Government was facilitated through a Consultancy with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Florence is a Member of the KeNIA National Innovation Technical Committee.

She has championed the Startup Kenya Agenda for the past 6 years. She provided technical assistance in the design and implementation of various MSME Development and Financing Policy initiatives such as the premier Startup Policy Hackathon, the Kenya Industry and Entrepreneurship Program, the formation of the Kenya Development Bank and the National Guarantee Scheme.

Moe Ba leads innovation in the development sector of the International Telecommunication Union - the United Nations' specialized agency for ICTs/Telecommunication - where he has worked for the past eight years in innovation policies and developing competitive digital ecosystems.

His role is to help strengthen ITU Member States’ capacity to innovate and integrate ICT innovation in their national development agenda.

Eric is a consummate leader, an Intrapreneur and enabler with 17years professional experience working with donors, public, private, academia and non-state stakeholders across Africa to create support for young people in pursuit of education, science, technology, innovation and economic empowerment.
